Karl Marx wrote in his 11th thesis on Feuerbach: “Philosophers have hitherto only interpreted the world in various ways; the point is however to change it.” Today we can rephrase this statement as “philosophers have interpreted war in various ways; the point is how to stop it.” Of course this refers to the horrible war that is taking place today in Ukraine. How can philosophers put an end to war? We discuss the actuality in Ukraine and Lviv after 14 days of war. Then face the challenging question what this war means for philosophers and philosophy. After all: It’s not wapens which change the world, but ideas.
